This is one of my favourite times of the year. Having had a break during summer, I feel reenergized and enthused to go as a new season unfolds. Recently we enjoyed warm sunshine as the anti cyclone has settled over the British Isles. This made a pleasant change from the Caribbean hurricane season leaving its rippling effect over the UK.
It’s a great time of year in the garden. The summer blooms maybe past but the vegetables and fruit are all ready to be harvested. Talking of harvest, the local farmers have most of the barley safely in store with the wheat well under way. Early potatoes are being lifted and soil condition, so far are good. In summary, it is a wonderful time of year as the seasons crops all bare fruition once again supplying us with home grown quality food materials. Nature in all its glory at its best. As I write, it seems a timely reminder to be grateful for our more temperate and less extreme climate than many other countries.
So what else does this time of early autumn bring? Well apart from my sons 21st birthday today! It is a new and ideal time of year to take stock of the year’s goods. Are they materializing in the way I wish? Or are your’s baring the harvest you wish for? Are the seeds of intentions you sowed earlier in this year baring the fruits of this toils in this harvest season now. Maybe the results are poorer than hoped for, or are they like a crop in the ground which has a longer growth period before they are ready to harvest? If so, do they need some care and attention so they continue to ripen accordingly?
Are your goals in need of new focus, attention of maybe changing to keep you on track for the rest of the season?
I have written before about the benefits, the necessity of getting clear about what we want to achieve on our life’s journey and what we would like to avoid. Remember, your life is what you make it, no direction – no satisfying destination. Positive plans and intentions lead to success and happiness within us. It’s as simple as that – the decision that is. Why? Because we are aligning our intentions with our core values and this is the key to happiness and contentment in life. FACT
So if it was as simple as this, why isn’t everyone happy and content in life? Well here are 7 reasons for this.
1. They have not aligned their values with intentions
2. They may not have become clear on their intentions and set goals
3. They become reactive to life instead of proactive, an easy situation to get into
4. They don’t take time – or think it is possible – to take stock and then design the life they would prefer to have
5. They are unaware, as most people are, of their subconscious negative programs which are holding them back from achieving that which will make them truly happy and fulfilled in life.
6. They are afraid to look at the current situation differently. And take responsibility for it. It is easier to play the victim.
7. They don’t realise the last reason (no. 6) is easier to turn around than they think.
But here is the good news – early September is an ideal time of year to look at all of this, make the decision to ‘steer’ the remaining few months so that you can harvest the fruits you wish; fruits which will enhance your life and wellbeing, your health and happiness, your financial peace of mind, your relationship with yourself and others. It doesn’t matter how big the problem, how bleak the outlook, how impossible the dream, everything is possible in life – you only need to know how, believe it, then act upon it. The rest is the fun part – harvesting the fruits of your toils.
Have a great week.
