Today marks a significant milestone for me in that I have a four month plan reaching completion. And boy does it feel great. It is that indescribable feeling of satisfaction, happiness, achievement and a little bit of relief.
To know that fate, the universe, call it what you will, has been helping me and makes the feeling even better. It’s a reassurance, if it were needed, that it is all meant to be.
Ok so that’s enough of the touchy feely stuff – let’s get down to the practicalities behind this great day.
As this is a Blog and not a newsletter, I don’t intend to go into too much detail about what my plan entails. Suffice to say much was business with some personal gains too.
My inclination to write and share with you this week is based on a desire to remind you that how sticking to a plan can be so beneficial to you. It just might encourage you too as you go about executing your own ‘plans’.
Bearing in mind this is a personal share, albeit it involved business and not an intended promotion.
Have you ever been presented with an unexpected crossroads in life? When suddenly the familiar route we were travelling along came to a choice of direction? I am sure you have many times.
Well June 2010 presented me with one of those situations. It would have been easy to have felt daunted but strangely I never did. Possibly because I chose to believe I could cope regardless. And I have.
So in a business meeting near east midlands airport, in June - My new plan was drawn up.
This was:
- To run P.S. Life Can Be Easy as a sole partner
- Write two home study courses entirely on my own
- Record Audios
- Publish a Short book
- Grow a database
- Write a weekly Blog
- Have my business become completely search engine optimised
- Have article presence on over 500 websites world wide.
- And much more besides
On a personal note, we wanted to re-landscape the garden and provide more shelter from west winds.
This morning, as I write with bright October sunshine melting the first fresh frost of winter, I have ‘that great feeling’ that all of the above has been achieved.
It’s a great feeling because
- I know I have completed my business plan
- Its great to have it behind me
- It’s great to know I was able to do it. I can’t say I ever had any doubt in myself but nevertheless it is good to know.
- I am excited about what I can now move onto.
At this point I would like to thank the team in no particular order, Arianne, Richard, Lee and Shaun for their professionalism and loyalty throughout; without whom the plan would not have arrived at its successful conclusion.
On the personal stuff, I have been blessed with good dry weather for the garden, end of season discounts on materials, a capable stone mason out of work and willing muscles in my family. Having celebrated a fifty something birthday on Sunday, I am chuffed to bits that there is still much more physical capability in this old dog too! And feeling good on it.
And so today all is completed together with a great sense of achievement satisfaction and pleasure.
I have chosen to share this with you today because even in times of uncertainty it is still possible for us all to set goals, follow them though and reap rewards if we stop to plan, focus, commit and finish.
That’s all it takes. That’s all it ever takes.
Last night I watched with much regret as RAF Kinloss is to close and all the implications of the fallout for the community after such a long integration with the RAF servicemen. I don’t make light of their situation. But you know what folks – it does not matter what situations we are faced with in life if we have the courage to plan and move forward – all things are possible. If we don’t believe that – we have nothing to hold on to - the dream, the plan – even the survival strategy.
As you go about your day today – take strength from the fact that no matter what challenges life brings you;
- There is always a solution waiting to be discovered by you.
- Make a plan and stick to it. You to will enjoy “that great feeling” of the plan finished
- Take any opportunity you can to believe you are always more capable than you have realised.
- Discovering this can be a lot of fun too!
Wishing you many “great feelings” of satisfaction
Have a great week
Billy
