We live in a world steeped in fear and negativity – but does that mean we have to live our lives this way? Carrying negativity in our lives is inevitable. We accumulate it through our experiences. However continuing to carry it with us, is optional. 5 tips on how to avoid negativity in your life…

 

1.  Regulate the news

2.  Hang around positive people

3.  Be clear about what you would like to have

Regulate the news you watch and read.

 

We live in an age where we can access global news 24/7. This is wonderful when we want to watch live sport or great events as they unfold.

 

However as the majority of news is trouble and tragedy unfolding, be aware that the more we watch and absorb sad situations, the more it pulls our spirits down and our ability to achieve and feel satisfied in life.

 

TIP: Know for yourself when the news serves you and keeps you informed, but not to the point it hinders you.

 

Hang around positive people

 

Have you ever noticed how happy and upbeat people, seem to get through life more easily? They don’t seem to dwell on negativity as they go about their day. That doesn’t mean they escape their own challenges – they just react and cope differently to the situation. These people are a good energy to be around as a result.

 

TIP: Enjoy the positive vibes of positive people. But remember to be positive around them too, as they say, laugh loudly and live longer!

 

Be clear about what you would like to have.

 

Results come to those who focus and are clear about what they would like to have. Work we enjoy, a home we are happy in, life/work balance, self confidence and financial security. The majority of us ‘think’ we know what we would like to have but spend too much time worrying about maybe not getting it; that the ‘having’ can elude us altogether.

 

TIP: Always be clear about what you are aiming for and why. It is usually the difference between success and failure. The results will come to you more quickly and easily.

 

Recognise your fears

 

All of us carry fear within us, consciously and unconsciously. It can be obvious fear e.g. heights, deep water or going short of money. But we all carry less obvious fear too. It might be turning seriously ill later in life, being unfairly accused of something, or not feeling good enough in the eyes of others.

 

TIP: The more we can acknowledge our fears and eliminate them, the more we eliminate negativity within us. Negativity prevents us from feeling happy and free. Positive energy is where success and happiness thrives!

 

Value and be true to yourself

 

If being happy and successful means getting free of negativity, then contentment comes from knowing, valuing and loving ourselves for who we are. Aligning our goals with our core values is what truly constitutes contentment within. This energy becomes so powerful, it will begin to dissolve negativity to the point fear struggles to exist.

 

TIP: Open yourself up to discover who you really are.  It is freeing, enlightening and exciting. When you do, it is so much easier to live your life with ease. Try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
