Are any of these holding you back, unnecessarily?

Today I’d like to take a look at some of the things that deplete our energy when it comes to Health and Well Being. Okay, we are all familiar with the more common ones like diet and exercise, lack of sleep etc.

Let’s take a look at some of the very common but less obvious ones to see if you are subconsciously holding yourself back personally without realising it.

The term ‘well being’ is a broad one covering a variety of issues that either makes us feel well and content, or otherwise. Living a busy and  often hectic lifestyle sometimes means we don’t get the time to check our well being as often as would serve us.

So this week I’d like to list some of the more common reasons we can be depleting our energy without realising it! Some of them may seem trivial but I invite you stay open to them all because sometimes it is the less obvious ones which can do the most damage.

Unfinished tasks, hidden frustration, unresolved conflict, negative energy in the body, health issues, physical pain, grief, bereavement, worry, fear, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, anxiety, depression, stress, loss of a loved one, divorce, feeling let down by others, feeling betrayed, your trust being abused and so on.

Now I don’t know about you but of these possible energy drainers I can only find one that has not affected me at some time or another in my life and that is divorce. How about you? Well cheer up - the good news is that we are normal!

Normal in having experienced them that is – but that is not to suggest we should make a habit of hanging onto them!

How I wish I had heard of ‘Coaching and Personal Development’ long before I did because looking back I had no idea it was possible to be successful in business and bring up a family without feeling stressed and under pressure much of the time. With the tools I learned and the disciplines I followed, I began to realise that there was an alternative to that manic lifestyle, with no time left for me into the bargain.

Now, I pack more into my days and feel less stressed, keep my feet clear of “problems” but probably the biggest difference is the fact that I am proactive in shaping the schedule I want rather than waiting for life to happen to me, or my family.

When those around me began to notice the difference, they became interested too in reviewing their own approach. This is what inspired me to write programmes to follow – helping busy people who seek to get done all that they wish to, yet look after their well being too.

What I discovered was that being proactive in looking after my well being, increased my sense of feeling well dramatically. Most people realise that our health in our later years (especially at work) reflects how ‘well’ we looked after ourselves when we were younger.

Take sports injuries for example. Younger bodies can put up with and usually recover from injuries easier; it’s often later in life the sore bits begin to ‘play up’. The problem is that by the time we learn this, we have lost the more youthful years to eradicate it more thoroughly.

It’s much the same with our ‘well being’. If we allow the issue to linger and fester as we grow older, it undoubtedly affects our sense of well being as we age ( sorry mature is a much better word!) It may even manifest into illness and chronic pain, everything we don’t want in middle age or retirement.

The best gift you can give yourself is to examine, spring clean and eradicate your historic well being; a wise investment for your health and well being for today and for the future. Think about it – invest in your future well being by getting rid of your energy drainers today.

We have all got them (or had them) but the great news is, no one needs to hang onto them indefinitely. Nature did not intend us to do so neither.

Stay well by looking after your well being! I speak from experience. I wish the same for you too, so then your Life Can Be Easy!

Have a good week.
